Biryla | Matthew Valauri
Matthew D. Valauri focuses his practice on commercial litigation and bankruptcy including
creditors’ rights, secured transactions and asset based financing. He also handles estate matters
in surrogate’s court and construction law, representing building suppliers and contractors. He
has been with our firm since May of 2006, starting out as a law clerk while attending law school
at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. Upon graduation from law school
in 2008, he was awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Award for his academic
achievements in the area of bankruptcy law. Since graduating law school he has been admitted
to practice law in the States of Connecticut in October, 2008 and New York in February, 2009.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the
Connecticut Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie
County and is an Alumnus of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. He is a graduate of
the University of Massachusetts, having graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors in
Business Administration in 2004.
